Old age

Old age Outside forces have tampered with our human genes. It's true, and you can research that tidbit of information if you like.  The mind can remain as sharp as ever, so long as we exercise it, and that fact somehow makes the problem so much more disparaging, doesn't it? But all of you soon-to-be old farts and senior citizens, please keep in mind the extraordinary value of frequent exercise, keeping the heart strong and the immune system up to scratch. I'm sure you all know the ropes as far as that's concerned, beating the ageing process? Fat chance. In this regard, our best ally is a sense of humour and a healthy philosophical outlook. But do not think for one minute that the gig is over upon the physical death of the organism. It's a much longer planned journey than most of you guys realise, and that's a fact. I've spent a lifetime gathering snippets of information, several times reinforced by personal experiences. Research this yourselves, there...

Negative Thoughts

Negative Thoughts That Are Holding You Back If there’s one thing we can bet on in life, it’s that we will wrestle with negative emotions at various times. It could be sadness, anger, fear, disappointment, or a host of other emotions. Many people contend with a lot of negative thoughts. This consistent negativity can impact their lives. For example, someone might tell one lie that triggers another lie and another one until they become quite the liar and have a difficult time owning any truth.  So, they isolate themselves and live a lonely life. Someone may believe that they are unworthy, so they keep sabotaging their relationships. Negative thoughts and emotions certainly exist, but we can m...

Importance of Meditation

Importance of Meditation For years, meditation research has unlocked something new every few months—and the present is no different. From genetic markers of ageing to white matter brain scans, new studies are mapping how and why mindfulness affects the mind and body. These findings confirm long-standing wisdom and surprising new angles, especially around breathwork, time-of-day habits, and brain ageing. 1. Meditation May Slow the Ageing Process A study published compared long-term Transcendental Meditation (TM) practitioners with non-meditators and found: Reduced expression of ageing-related genes, which helps regulate inflammation and energy use in the body. When it's overactive, it can accelerate ageing by disrupting cellular repair and increasing stress responses. Better cognitive performance in areas that typically decline with age Healthier regulation of the stress-response system. Together, these findings suggest TM can reduce allostatic...

Healthy Mindset

Healthy Mindset Health is not simply a state of physical well-being; it also involves the emotional, psychological, mental, and spiritual well-being of an individual. How life works.

How life works. People struggle to understand how life works because it is not a fixed system with clear rules—it is a constantly changing, deeply personal experience. Here are a few key reasons why understanding life feels difficult: 1. Conditioning and Limited Perspective ·        From birth, people are conditioned by society, family, religion, and culture to see life in a certain way. This conditioning creates blind spots and limits true understanding. ·        Most people view life through personal experiences and beliefs rather than as an evolving, interconnected reality. 2. Attachment to Outcomes ·        People expect life to follow a certain script—success, happiness, control—but life does not obey personal desires. ·        When things don’t go as expected, confusion and suffering arise.  Detachment...

KNOWING PEOPLE

KNOWING PEOPLE   Why People Put You Down & Ways to Cope with Them The world is full of nice, pleasant, and interesting people, but once in a while, you might run into some who seem to constantly try to put you down. We know life is not always rainbows and butterflies. We will encounter people who try to put us down with derogatory gestures, ironic comments, constant criticism, name-calling, disapproval, and several other macroaggressions aimed at belittling, discouraging, and disempowering us. But, as you can guess, getting frustrated and agitated is not the way to deal with these sorts of people.
